Last time I went to a Gateshead Match

Thomas Gateshead Stadium

My dad always took me to football matches , but this match on this day took the biscuit. When I got off the Metro , I was full of nerves to go to the stadium, our hardest match yet and the most tense atmosphere . I walked up the ramp to calm myself and prepared myself for the match ahead . Once we were there and we saw the Kings Lynn fans , we knew it was going to be a hostile atmosphere . First half goes and both sets of fans are firing insults at each other, but Kings Lynn go in 1-0 up at the break due to a 15th Minute goal .
It was tense and you could feel it . Second half starts , and we draw a goal back . 81st minute , we nearly scored but Kings Lynn got the ball and then scored on a counter attack to win the game . I was utterly devastated, and that was the moment where it was like war . There was a fight in the car park afterwards but I didn’t get involved . I couldn’t have known that this was the last time I watched Gateshead FC for a while . I hope we all come out of this well and alive , and hope we can make a fairer society out of this.
